Lorraine’s Cake Shoppe and Tea Room is owned and operated by Pastry Chef Lorraine Howarth Perry. With a love and passion for baking, Lorraine enrolled in the baking and pastry program in 2006 at The French Culinary Institute of New York, now International Culinary Center. During her education, she was trained by the Chocolate master Dean Jacques Torres and renowned Executive pastry chef Ron Ben -Israel. After graduation, Lorraine was employed as a pastry chef at Crystal Springs Resorts in northern New Jersey and worked under the direction of Executive Chef Michael Weishaupt. After leaving Crystal Springs, in hopes to open her own cake shoppe one day, she began creating and selling wedding and special occasion cakes from home. She built a substantial cliental. While the business had grown and soared beyond her wildest dreams, her dream soon became a reality and Lorraine’s Cake shoppe & Tea room was born.
